Join a Trip
|
At Golden Trout Packtrains we understand that it’s not always
possible to get a group of four or more together for a trip. We have
designed some trips that singles or couples can join and enjoy the company
of other backcountry lovin’ folks. Some trips are designed with
fly fishing in mind while others are for deer hunters. But keep in
mind that the fun is definitely not limited to fishing or hunting.
The destinations are our personal favorites and we know you will love
them too. We have designed three, four, and six day trips that run
throughout the summer and fall. All of these package trips include:
A Saddle Horse chosen to match your riding abilities, pack animal
to deliver your gear safe and sound, an experienced packer and guide,
a terrific back-country cook, and three square meals each day. All
you’ll need to bring is your bedroll, fishing pole or rifle
and any alcohol you may want to bring. Each guest is limited to 30
pounds on the three and four day trips and 50 pounds on the six day
trip.

Funston Meadow A six day fly
fishing trip to Funston Meadow to catch the big Kern Rainbow Trout and see some
truly spectacular country. Funston Meadow is located about three miles
above the Kern Ranger Station and 21 miles from the trail head. The
first day we'll camp at Grasshopper which is right on the Kern River.
It will be a four hour horseback ride with a one hour stop for lunch at
the Little Kern Bridge. The second day will be a lot like the first but
our destination will be Funston Meadow. We'll enjoy two days
exploring all the fishing holes and spend two days getting back out.
